A New York federal judge on Wednesday voided an author's pseudonym trademark registration, ruling that she fraudulently applied for it by passing off someone else's work as her own and that a book publisher was the trademark's rightful owner.

New York-based publisher Melodrama Publishing LLC on Friday accused an author of fraudulently trademarking her pseudonym, Nisa Santiago, after failing to deliver a series of novels about a female drug kingpin that was eventually penned by another author.
