Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Walgreen Co. and Perrigo Co. of South Carolina Inc. on Monday agreed to a settlement that would bring an end to several lawsuits accusing them of falsely touting the cartilage rebuilding powers of glucosamine supplements.

A New York federal judge Wednesday stripped warranty claims from a consumer class action accusing Walgreen Co. of falsely touting the cartilage-rebuilding powers of its glucosamine supplements, but otherwise rejected the company's efforts to trim or stay the suit.
