A Mississippi federal judge on Thursday threw out a putative class action claiming Wells Fargo Bank NA force-placed exorbitant QBE Insurance Corp. flood policies on mortgagors and took kickbacks off the premiums, ruling the disputed rates were unassailable.

Wells Fargo Bank NA urged a Mississippi federal judge Thursday to find that the filed rate doctrine blocks a putative class action claiming the bank forced borrowers to pay exorbitant property insurance rates that went toward illegal kickbacks.
