A California federal jury on Monday cleared an Edison unit of allegations it negligently caused power outages at an ExxonMobil refinery that purportedly led to nearly $32 million in lost profits and other damages.

During closing arguments in a California federal court Thursday, ExxonMobil said an Edison unit's indifference and "reckless disregard" for the operations and safety of its Southern California refinery were to blame for power outages that resulted in nearly $32 million in equipment damages and lost profits.
