Costco Wholesale Corp. on Friday beat a proposed class action in Washington state federal court accusing it of misleadingly labeling a water drink it sells as a "natural tonic" even though it allegedly contains artificial caffeine.

A Washington judge on Thursday dismantled a putative class action accusing Costco Wholesale Corp. of selling "enhanced" beverages containing artificial caffeine that were falsely labeled as natural, but rejected arguments that the plaintiff lacked standing to sue.
