A New York federal judge has ruled that a man who recently completed a 46-month prison sentence for illegally exporting high-grade carbon fiber from the U.S. to Iran could not end a one-year term of supervised release early, but could travel to Iran while it remains in effect.

A dual Iranian-U.S. citizen was sentenced in New York federal court on Friday to 46 months in prison, after he pled guilty to taking part in a scheme to illegally export high-grade carbon fiber from the U.S. to Iran.
