The U.S. International Trade Commission said Wednesday that it would take up an investigation into whether electronic dog collars made by a Jarden Corp. subsidiary violate patents held by rival Radio Systems Corp., the company behind PetSafe pet products.

Radio Systems Corp., the company behind PetSafe pet products, on Monday urged the U.S. International Trade Commission to launch an investigation into electronic dog collars made by rival Sunbeam Products Inc., expanding the scope of its recently initiated patent battle.
