A New York federal judge sided with Dexia Real Estate Capital Markets on Wednesday, ruling state law prohibits it from using a separate malpractice settlement to cover legal costs it incurred from a commercial mortgage-backed securities dispute with U.S. Bank NA and awarding it $1.8 million in attorneys' fees.
