An Idaho fracking support company told a North Dakota federal court Wednesday it wants $3.6 million in attorneys' fees and a tripling of a $750,000 jury award after invalidating a competitor's patent related to hydraulic oil extraction.

A licensing company utilized inequitable conduct to obtain a water heating patent used in fracking because its inventor misrepresented to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office how long the concept had been in use before filing a patent application for it, a North Dakota federal judge has determined after a bench trial.
