A federal judge on Tuesday tossed most of a proposed class action against bicyclist Lance Armstrong and his publishers alleging that two of his books were fraudulent in light of his admitted doping, saying the books and their advertising are protected by the First Amendment.

Lance Armstrong and his publishers were hit with a false advertising class action in California federal court Tuesday by book buyers who say two of Armstrong's books, which were marketed as truthful biographies, were "exposed as frauds" when he admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs.
