A California federal judge on Wednesday trimmed several of app developer Profile Technology Ltd.'s counterclaims from Facebook Inc.'s breach-of-contract suit accusing the developer of improperly retaining user data, while finding the relationship between the parties was governed by Delaware law.

A California federal judge on Monday declined to cut Facebook Inc.'s Irish subsidiary from the social networking giant's breach of contract suit alleging app developer Profile Technology Ltd. improperly retained user data, saying the two were contractually bound.
