A Florida federal judge has agreed to enforce Carnival Corp.'s settlement with dozens of passengers who were stranded at sea for days on a disabled cruise ship in 2013, saying the lone holdout plaintiff hadn't bothered to show up in court to make his case.

A Florida magistrate judge recommended Tuesday that the court enforce Carnival Corp.'s settlement with the remaining plaintiffs in a suit alleging the company was negligent during the infamous 2013 Triumph cruise disaster, saying the lone holdout plaintiff doesn't have enough evidence to challenge the deal.
