The Federal Trade Commission said Wednesday that a marketing company accused of blasting consumers with more than 30 million spam text messages directing them to deceptive websites has been barred from further scams, the agency's latest settlement in a crackdown launched this year.

FTC Says Marketing Co. Sent 30M Junk Texts
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission on Thursday hit Ecommerce Merchants LLC and several of its directors and officers with a lawsuit alleging the company sends unauthorized and unsolicited commercial text messages to consumers' mobile phones and other wireless devices.
