A Pennsylvania federal judge on Thursday remanded to state court a proposed class action by Mercer County landowners who claimed that Halcon Energy Properties Inc. reneged on contracts to lease their fracking rights and withdrew its agreements for more than 1,700 parcels of land.

Morascyzk & Polochak, a law firm specializing in the Marcellus Shale industry, urged a Pennsylvania federal judge Monday to reject claims that it was complicit in a plot by Halcon Energy Properties Inc. to renege on gas drilling contracts inked with a proposed class of landowners.
