A New York federal judge refused Monday to toss a class action alleging Kangadis Food Inc. misleads customers by advertising adulterated olive oil as "100 percent pure," ruling that consumers can move forward with their claims because the product contains olive-residue oil that dilutes its purity.

Rakoff Pares Claims In Olive Oil Labeling Class Action
U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff on Friday trimmed a proposed class action accusing Kangadis Food Inc. of falsely advertising its olive oil as being 100 percent pure when it's actually a different olive-based product, saying he didn't have jurisdiction to hear some claims.
