A California federal judge on Monday scrapped a proposed consolidated class action accusing Kellogg Co. Inc. cereal and snack maker Kashi Co. of misbranding its foods, in light of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration revisiting its definition of "evaporated cane juice."

Kellogg Co. Inc. cereal and snack maker Kashi Co. was hit Monday with a proposed class action alleging the company disguises sugar in its lists of ingredients by instead listing "evaporated cane juice" or "evaporated cane juice crystals."
