A Florida federal judge on Thursday threw out a contract suit alleging Discovery Communications Inc. stole the idea for "therapeutic programming" used on the Oprah Winfrey Network, after the attorney for plaintiff Sunset Concepts I.P. Firm LLC bailed and it failed to retain new counsel.

Discovery Can't Duck Contract Claim Over OWN Programming
A Florida federal judge refused Monday to dismiss a lawsuit alleging Discovery Communications Inc. stole the idea for "therapeutic programming" used on the Oprah Winfrey Network, ruling the plaintiff has sufficiently pled breach of contract claims against Discovery.
