The federal government settled with a construction company and its subcontractor in North Carolina federal court on Monday, ending a False Claims Act suit over allegedly inflated work orders in a Fort Bragg base construction contract.

A construction company that won a $140 million contract to construct a barracks complex at Fort Bragg asked a judge Monday to dismiss a False Claims Act lawsuit it faces, arguing that it acted in good faith when it signed off on millions in increased claims from a subcontractor and submitted those claims to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
