Judge Buries Lawsuit Over $1.6M Army Corps Soil Dispute
A Louisiana federal judge on Tuesday gave the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers a quick win in a developer’s suit alleging the Corps illegally forced the firm to buy $1.6 million in environmental mitigation credits after it sold soil and clay found on its property to the state for projects that reinforced levees and floodwalls damaged by hurricanes.

Corps of Engineers Can't Bury Suit Over Levee Soil Deal
A Louisiana federal court on Thursday rejected an attempt by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to dismiss a case brought by a company the Corps required to buy $1.6 million in environmental mitigation credits in order to supply soil for shoring up flood levees in the state.
