Ltd, and admonished attorneys for both parties for failing to tell the court that Samsung had requested inter partes reviews of the patents.

A Virginia federal judge on Friday trimmed a patent infringement suit brought by Virginia Innovation Sciences Inc. alleging Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. stole its technology for transferring information from a mobile device to a television.

Virginia Innovation Sciences Inc. sued Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and two of its subsidiaries in Virginia federal court Friday, alleging that a host of the South Korean electronics giant's smartphones, tablets and accessories infringe patents covering the transfer of information from a mobile network to a television.
