The Patent Trial and Appeal Board agreed Wednesday to institute America Invents Act reviews of three patents for smartphone technology that major patent licensing firm Intellectual Ventures Management LLC has accused Motorola Mobility LLC of infringing.

Motorola Mobility LLC was hit with a suit on Wednesday in Florida federal court alleging that its mobile devices infringe seven patents owned by two affiliates of patent-holding company Intellectual Ventures Management LLC.
