Walgreen Co. has agreed to pay $11 million to end a class suit accusing it of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by placing robocalls to customers' cellphones with prerecorded prescription reminder messages, according to documents filed Thursday in Illinois federal court.

An Illinois federal judge on Monday refused to toss a putative class action accusing Walgreen Co. of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by making robocalls about subscription refills, saying the complaint is too vague about the calls, so the retailer can't prove consumers gave prior consent.
