A Texas federal jury on Friday invalidated two patents for breath-freshening dog treats held by a Mars subsidiary, handing a defense win to competitor True Science, which had been accused of infringing the Mars patents.

A U.S. magistrate judge in the Eastern District of Texas has ordered Mars Inc. to produce requested documents to True Science Holdings LLC and TruRX LLC, the two companies it alleges infringed its patents for breath-freshening dog treats.
