The FBI may withhold information on its drones under several exemptions to the Freedom of Information Act, a D.C. federal judge ruled Tuesday, shooting down a transparency group's request to peer into the bureau's use of the aircraft.

The U.S. government on Thursday said it should not have to release information about its domestic use of unmanned aircraft commonly called drones, asking a District of Columbia federal judge to toss a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by a government watchdog.
