A New York magistrate judge on Tuesday slapped sanctions against attorneys representing a Brooklyn costume and fitness center in a suit over unpaid overtime wages and ordered them to fork over attorney's fees, saying they didn't respond to numerous court orders regarding discovery and settlement payments.

Former employees for a Brooklyn, New York-based costume and fitness center business who allege they were shortchanged on overtime urged a federal judge Thursday to sanction attorneys representing the employer, saying they have repeatedly failed to follow court orders.
