Exxon Pays $25M To Settle Puerto Rico Pollutant Suit
ExxonMobil Corp. and Esso Standard Oil Co. will pay Puerto Rico $25 million to settle numerous allegations that they polluted the territory's groundwater with a common gasoline additive, in a deal approved by a Puerto Rico federal court Wednesday.

Chevron and other oil companies urged a Puerto Rico federal court Monday to allow jurors in the territory's suit over groundwater pollution to hear evidence and testimony about numerous contaminants other than a chemical in their gasoline, saying excluding the information would deny the companies a fair trial.
