    Judge Gilstrap Rejects ZTE's New Trial Bid After $31M Verdict

    U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap on Tuesday denied a bid by Chinese smartphone maker ZTE Corp. for a new trial after a Texas federal jury found it willfully infringed two DataQuill data entry technology patents and awarded DataQuill $31.5 million, saying the court would not override the jury's judgment.

    ZTE Hit With $31.5M Data Patent Verdict In Eastern Texas

    A Texas federal jury on Thursday decided that the U.S. subsidiary of Chinese company ZTE Corp. owes $31.5 million to British Virgin Islands-based DataQuill Ltd. after the defendant allegedly infringed two patents covering data entry technology.
