An Arizona federal judge ruled Thursday that a former Chrysler manager was effectively a dealer operating a franchise and the automaker is therefore liable to him for any damages incurred by Chrysler's violations of Arizona law when he was improperly fired.

An Arizona federal judge on Monday kept intact most of a Chrysler Group LLC franchise manager's suit against the car company alleging he owned the franchise and was improperly fired, ruling he sufficiently pled he was a franchisee despite not executing the sales agreement.
