The D.C. Circuit on Tuesday nixed a challenge to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's approval of a now-constructed pipeline extension carrying Marcellus Shale natural gas through New Jersey and into New York City, saying that environmental groups and a New Jersey city didn't have standing to bring their suit.

The D.C. Circuit on Wednesday considered whether the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission erred in not allowing the public to comment on environmental studies submitted by the natural gas industry to support a now-constructed pipeline extension carrying Marcellus Shale natural gas through New Jersey and into New York City.
