The Fourth Circuit threw out Thursday an appeal by a former NASA contractor serving an eight-year prison sentence on a conviction of brokering satellite technology to Iran, ruling that his challenge to one of the charges was not enough to halt his trial.

A former NASA contractor recently convicted of defrauding the U.S. by providing satellite technology to Iran will not be able to halt the case while he appeals federal prosecutors' claims that he obstructed bankruptcy court proceedings during the scheme, the Fourth Circuit ruled Friday.
