The Federal Circuit ruled Tuesday that Chinese cellphone maker Huawei Device USA Inc. would have to face the entirety of an Acacia Research Corp. patent dispute in Texas, shooting down the company's bid to deal with some of the claims in California.

Huawei Asks Fed. Circ. To Revive Patent Dispute In Calif.
Cellphone maker Huawei Device USA Inc. on Tuesday asked the Federal Circuit to revive its California suit seeking invalidation of software patents asserted by Acacia Research Corp. in a related Texas case, arguing Huawei is a third-party beneficiary to an agreement that says disputes must take place in California.
