The Ninth Circuit on Monday upheld a California federal court ruling challenged by pornographic film companies who claimed a 2012 voter-approved law requiring actors to wear condoms violated their freedom of speech, saying the law does not significantly impinge on First Amendment rights.

9th Circ. Should Block LA Condom Rule, Porn Cos. Say
Adult film companies Vivid Entertainment LLC and Califa Productions Inc. urged the Ninth Circuit on Monday to block the enforcement of Los Angeles County’s requirement that porn actors wear condoms, saying the law is unconstitutional and that producers are aware of health risks and have taken preventative measures.
