The Third Circuit on Monday said a New Jersey rule barring attorneys from excerpting judicial opinions for advertising purpose is unconstitutional and unduly burdensome, siding with an employment lawyer who argued his use of excerpts on his website was not misleading to consumers.

A New Jersey employment attorney urged the Third Circuit on Tuesday to toss out a state judiciary committee's rule that he said unconstitutionally bars him from excerpting judicial opinions as a means of advertising on his firm's website.
