The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday slammed an alleged fraudster's attempt to stay a suit claiming he conspired with a Miami-based attorney to defraud investors in a sham international investing opportunity, telling a Florida federal court that despite claiming to be ill, he is still soliciting investment opportunities.

Fla. Atty To Pay $3.8M To Resolve SEC Investment Fraud Case
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday asked a Florida federal court to approve a final judgment forcing a Miami-based attorney and associated entities to pay more than $3.8 million to settle claims over alleged involvement in a scheme defrauding approximately 45 investors in a sham international investing opportunity.
