The Seventh Circuit revived a racketeering suit Friday over legislation that former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich signed to benefit the state's horse-racing industry, saying the causal line between an alleged bribe and the signing of the tax on riverboat casinos was direct enough to qualify as proximate cause.

Four Illinois riverboat casinos urged the Seventh Circuit on Monday to revive their racketeering suit alleging former Gov. Rod Blagojevich accepted bribes to push through legislation that diverted some $140 million of gambling revenue to racetracks in the state, saying they have ample evidence that corruption tainted the bill's passage.
