A federal judge on Thursday dismissed 18 current and former Minnesota residents' suit accusing a bevy of counties and state officials of unlawfully accessing personal data contained in their driving records, finding the plaintiffs cannot prove they were targeted as a group.

Eighteen current and former Minnesota residents launched a suit in federal court Thursday accusing a bevy of counties and state officials, including Attorney General Lori Swanson and Court Administrator Jeff Shorba, of unlawfully accessing personal data contained in their driver records.
