Northern Electric on Thursday urged a Kentucky federal court to dismiss $3 million in damages claimed by Michelin over Northern's allegedly shoddy work in a chemical plant, saying there has been no evidence to support the proposed damages.

A Kentucky federal judge on Thursday slammed Northern Electric Inc.'s argument that Michelin North America Inc. could not withhold $2.6 million in payments for botched electrical work in a chemical plant that ended up costing Michelin more than $3 million to repair, saying the contract allows Michelin to withhold payment.
