    4 States Urge 3rd Circ. To Rehear NJ Sports Betting Case

    Georgia, Kansas, Virginia and West Virginia urged the Third Circuit on Monday to rehear en banc a recent panel decision striking down a New Jersey law legalizing sports gambling, saying the decision condones federal intrusion into state sovereignty by disregarding the anti-commandeering doctrine.

    3rd Circ. Blocks NJ Bid To Legalize Sports Betting

    In a win for the NFL and other professional sports leagues, the Third Circuit on Tuesday shot down a New Jersey law legalizing sports gambling, rejecting a constitutional challenge to the federal Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, which bans sports betting in most states.
