The Federal Circuit on Thursday ruled that the U.S. Department of Commerce slapped an inaccurate remedial tariff on a Mexican steel shipper by cherry-picking certain adverse data and vacated the agency's finding while still leaving the agency a bit of wiggle room to justify its decision.

A Federal Circuit panel criticized the U.S. Department of Commerce during oral arguments on Friday for imposing anti-dumping duties on a Mexican nonalloy steel pipe reseller, saying the agency shouldn't have punished the company for its supplier's noncompliance with an administrative review.
