    The D.C. Circuit on Friday approved a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services policy changing how the agency calculated reimbursements for hospitals treating Medicare patients, dismissing an appeal claiming the change had unfairly targeted rural hospitals.

    Rural Hospitals Protest Medicare Adjustments At DC Circ.

    The Department of Health and Human Services shortchanged dozens of rural hospitals by adjusting their individualized Medicare payment rates without the express authority of Congress, an attorney for the hospitals told the D.C. Circuit on Thursday, asking the court to strike down the adjustments.
