Illinois National Insurance Co. is not obligated to defend Steel Supply & Engineering Co. against an Indiana city's $6 million suit accusing the company of botching work on a dome atop a landmark theater house because an exception for shoddy workmanship doesn't apply, the Sixth Circuit affirmed Thursday.

Illinois National Needn't Defend 'Faulty' Arts Center Builders
Illinois National Insurance Co. does not have to defend construction company Steel Supply & Engineering Co. in a lawsuit by the city of Carmel, Indiana, alleging faulty work in construction of a performing arts center, a Michigan federal court ruled Monday, finding the damage was not covered by the insurance policy.
