3rd Circ. Nixes Hacker's Conviction For AT&T Data Breach
The Third Circuit on Friday vacated the conviction of a hacker accused of gaining unauthorized access to AT&T Inc. servers and stealing more than 114,000 Apple iPad users' email addresses, ruling the case never should have been tried in New Jersey.

AT&T, Apple Email Hack Wasn't Illegal, 3rd Circ. Told
The actions of a hacker convicted of gaining unauthorized access to AT&T Inc. servers and obtaining over 114,000 email addresses of Apple iPad users did not constitute a violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, an attorney for the defendant told the Third Circuit on Wednesday.
