A New York federal judge on Friday favored Sentinel Insurance Co. in a coverage dispute with a Manhattan law firm over more than two months of lost business income following Superstorm Sandy, finding coverage was barred under a flood exclusion contained in the firm's policy.

Sentinel Insurance Co. Ltd. sought an early win Thursday in New York federal court in a bad faith and breach of contract suit filed by the law firm Bamundo Zwal & Schermerhorn LLP, arguing the insurance coverage Sentinel provided doesn't cover lost business income resulting from flooding during Superstorm Sandy.
