Patent-holding company Alexsam Inc. urged a Federal Circuit panel to overturn a jury verdict finding that Pier 1 Imports Inc. did not infringe on Alexsam's gift card technology patents, arguing Tuesday that the retailer's system doesn't differ substantially from its intellectual property.
