A California federal judge on Wednesday approved a request to trim more than $1.5 million from Pacer Cartage Inc.'s $4.25 million settlement with a class of truckers who claimed they were misclassified as contractors and cheated on wages, after dozens of drivers opted out of the deal.

A class of truck drivers who allege a California-based company stiffed them on minimum and overtime wages sought final approval on Tuesday for a $4.25 million settlement of the case.
