As the U.S. Supreme Court continues to weigh a high-profile tribal immunity case stemming from a controversial casino project, Michigan petitioned the high court Wednesday to take up questions related to another Sixth Circuit case against a different Native American group.

The Sixth Circuit agreed Monday to reinforce a lower court's injunction against a proposed $245 million tribal casino in Michigan while the state makes a U.S. Supreme Court bid challenging the scope of tribal immunity under federal law.
