Riddell Helmet Class Gets Last Chance At Concussion Cert.
An Indiana federal judge ruled as moot on Wednesday new class allegations in a suit seeking to hold Riddell Inc. liable for concussions suffered by college athletes wearing its helmets, giving the athletes 20 days to argue one last time why they should be heard as a bloc.

An Indiana federal judge on Tuesday struck class allegations in a suit claiming that Riddell Inc. sold football helmets to colleges and universities that failed to protect National Collegiate Athletic Association athletes from head injuries, finding that the class definition was overbroad.

Riddell, NCAA Face New Football Concussion Class Action
Riddell Inc. and the NCAA were hit with a proposed class action in Indiana on Wednesday claiming they failed to protect football players from the effects of concussions, the first time the helmet manufacturer has been targeted by college players in such a suit.
