The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in New York federal court Tuesday fired back at boutique investment banking firm Arjent LLC's accusations that the agency harassed the company's investors, saying the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the firm's injunction bid and the firm's accusations were not supported by fact.

SEC Sued For Harassment, Slander During Probe
Boutique investment banking firm Arjent LLC and its CEO hit the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission with a lawsuit in New York federal court on Thursday, accusing the agency of purposely concealing the existence of an investigation of the company and of depriving plaintiffs of their right to counsel.
