Walgreen Co. asked a Florida federal court Wednesday to toss a putative class action accusing it of deceptively marketing its glucosamine and chondroitin products, saying that the claims lack merit because the retailer has never sold the supplements as proven cures for any disease.

Walgreen Co. on Monday was hit in Florida federal court with yet another proposed consumer class action over its line of glucosamine products that the drugstore retail giant markets as a way to "rebuild cartilage" even though, the suit claims, that is biologically impossible.
