The Federal Circuit on Thursday affirmed a lower court's ruling barring Sandoz Inc. from marketing a generic version of the eye infection drug AzaSite, ruling that the company has failed to show that patents owned by Pfizer Inc. and others are invalid as obvious.

Sandoz Appeals Eye Drug Patent Verdict To Fed. Circ.
Sandoz Inc. asked the Federal Circuit on Tuesday to reverse a federal judge's ruling that the pharmaceutical company violated four patents owned by Pfizer Inc. and InSite Vision Inc. when it tried to bring to market a generic version of AzaSite azithromycin eye drops, used as a bacterial conjunctivitis treatment.
